Hi there! Here are some fun facts everyone wants to know about alpacas!

Did you know that alpacas are related to:
a) horses?
b) camels?
c) elephant?
Do Alpacas SPIT? The short answer is YES they do. The long answer is what you really need to know.
Alpacas don't ususally spit at people. They do spit at each other when they are discussing things between each other. It usually means " Dont mess with me or my space"!
Did you know that the alpaca's feet are soft on the bottom and has two toes and does not have a hoof?
That is different isnt it?
That is one of the reasons alpacas are very easy on the land.
Did you know that alpacas can sing?
They actually HUM!!! They hum to each other to find each other, and to comunicate with the herd. Each mom and baby has thier own hum just like we all have our own voice. You know your moms voice don't you?
Did you know that alpacas can be trained to jump over obstacles and walk on a halter? There are 4-H clubs for alpacas. You can even bring them to shows. Sometimes you even get a Blue Ribbon!
Did you know that alpacas give us their whole winter coat once a year, and that it can make the softest, and warmest sweaters, hats, mittens, and scarves, and that is doesn't even feel scratchy! It feels like bunny fur!!!! Each year the alpacas grow their coat again and in the spring they give it to us to use. Aren't they nice?
This is a picture of a new born alpacas little tiny feet. You can see the soft pad kind of like the palms of our hands. Then you can see the two little toes and toenails.
